Hello, I am Sofia
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Roma, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Peteco Qalapo Duyu
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism resource
- A paid review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Roma or anywhere in Italy, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
